Here’s How to Get Unstuck: Use Your Two Brains

Author:NeuroGym Team

The daily decisions we make create our reality. And our choices shape who we are as individuals.

In this day and age, most of us are programmed to make decisions based on fear, low self-esteem, and a lack of willpower.

So instead of making bold moves, we end up stuck in the comfort zone.

(Check out my video from a Facebook Live coaching session below to learn more about how your brain keeps you stuck.)

Let’s say, for example, you make the conscious decision to write an award-winning book.

As you decide to take on this noble feat, you use the conscious part of your brain. You make a decision to do something you really want to do because you want to share your story with the world . . .

However, at the subconscious level, you may have a disempowering belief that keeps you from moving toward this goal.

You see, the goal that excites you to write a book or to do anything releases dopamine in your brain, which makes you feel good. But underneath the surface, you have hidden beliefs that hinder growth.

You may think: “Who am I to write a book? I’m not even a good writer,” for example.

With negative thoughts like this, your brain shuts down the excitement you felt when deciding to write a book, which leaves you unmotivated and back stuck in the comfort zone.

Your brain doesn’t know the difference between something real or imagined.

To keep in the flow, here’s a Neuro-tip technique for you on overcoming limiting beliefs.

1. Write down something that your inner critic keeps repeating to you.

2. Now put the limiting belief in the past, i.e., “In the past, I used to believe that I wasn’t good enough or smart enough.”

3. Now write: “I’m learning how to feel and be more than smart enough to achieve my goals.”

And anytime the inner critic shows up to try to deflate you by telling you that you’re not good enough or smart enough, remember you have the brain power to release negative self-talk.

All it takes is practice.
