Innercise: How to Enhance the Genius Part of Your Brain

Author: John Assaraf | March 8, 2017

Have you ever stopped and thought about your past resolutions, and how many fell by the wayside?

What if this time around, you don’t just make resolutions, but take the kind of effective action that will make sure you see yours through?

You can disrupt negative thoughts and behaviors that cause you to fall short of your goals, and divert that energy toward the positive ideas and habits that could drive you to success!

Welcome to the Innercise on how to enhance the genius part of your brain!

If you are struggling to accomplish your goals, there may be a lack of positive activity within the left prefronal cortex of your brain, which turns off the "worry centers" located in the right prefrontal cortex.

Try This Innercise to Gain Optimism and the Positivity You Need to Accomplish Your Goals.

1. Set a goal and write it down. “I want to lose 10 pounds this month."

2. Next, write down 3 action steps that will help you move to that goal. i.e. Don’t buy chips and soda at the store, drink water instead of getting that double vanilla latte, set an alert to take two 10-minute walks everyday.

3. Implement your alternate plan of action.

That’s it! It sounds simple, but you would be surprised how the act of writing the steps down and looking at them daily will generate action and create positive daily habits. Even if the steps are small, it’s all about gaining forward momentum toward your goals.

If you still struggle with getting motivated, try this other Innercise to keep the motivation part of your brain active.
